Opening Hours at Our Maroubra Clinic
If you’re looking for a dentist open on Saturday or a dentist open on Sunday, our Maroubra dental clinic is open seven days. This means you can now find the time, even on weekends, to have your oral health checked. So, here’s the full week:
- Monday to Wednesday: 9am–6pm
- Thursday: 9am–7pm
- Friday: 9am–6pm
- Saturday: 9am–4pm
- Sunday: 12pm–3pm
On Thursdays, we are open until late at night. You’ll also find free onsite parking at the clinic, which can make visits easier to fit in. If you have a sudden toothache or dental emergency, please call us so we can talk through the next step.
Services at Our Dental Clinic
- General dentistry: check-up and clean, tooth-coloured fillings, crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays, root canal treatment
- Cosmetic dentistry: Invisalign®, composite bonding, teeth whitening, veneers
- Emergency and urgent care: emergency dentistry, toothache treatment, wisdom teeth removal
- Patient care: anxious patients, children’s dentistry, dental implants
If you’re not sure which service you need, a check-up is a good place to start. However, which treatment suits you depends on a clinical assessment. Before any treatment, your dentist will discuss the risks, benefits and alternatives with you.
What to Expect at a New Patient Dental Exam
Looking for a new patient dentist? Your first visit is usually a new patient dental exam. It may include:
- A chat. We ask about your concerns, your health and your dental history, so we understand what matters to you.
- An examination. Your dentist checks your teeth and gums and may recommend X-rays if they’re needed.
- A clean. If it suits you, a professional clean follows to remove plaque and build-up from your teeth.
- Next steps. Then we explain what we find and talk through your options. There’s no pressure to decide on the day.
Because every patient is different, your dentist will confirm what your visit includes. It helps to bring:
- Your health fund card, if you have one
- A list of any medicines you take
- Details of your last dental visit, if you have them
Why Regular Check-Ups Matter
So, how often should you see a dentist? The Australian Dental Association recommends most Australians attend a check-up at least once a year. A regular check-up also gives your dentist the chance to spot problems early.
For example, the ADA says tooth decay can be stopped if it’s found when it’s just starting to develop. The ADA also notes that plaque can harden into calculus, which needs a professional clean to remove. That’s why a check-up and clean is a good first step with a new dentist. Your dentist can suggest how often suits you.
Health Funds and Payment Options
Our Maroubra dental clinic accepts all health funds. However, your rebate would still depend on your fund and your level of cover, so it’s worth checking with your fund. Payment plan options are also available through Afterpay, Zip Pay and Ezidebit.
